At DeNova Homes, we want to be as transparent as
possible to set proper expectations concerning our home buying process. We will
be updating this blog post regularly to keep you informed on what you can
expect when purchasing a DeNova Home.
In October of 2020, Lawrence Yun, the chief economist
at the National Association of Realtors, said "We are simply facing a housing
shortage, a major housing shortage.”
Fast forward to today, and with continued
low-interest rates, people buying bigger homes amid the pandemic because they
are working remotely, and many fleeing the big cities for the suburbs, supply
in the Bay Area is even more scarce in the current environment.
There are other challenges facing ALL builders that
include the severe price increase of all building and manufactured materials,
lack of land, and a severe shortage of labor in the workforce. The result
of all this is it creates much more demand than supply. And the resale home
market is no better. Homes are being snatched up before yard signs can be
installed and many are subject of bidding wars resulting in the homes being
sold for higher than the original listing price.
Due to the unprecedented demand for new homes in the
Bay Area, we are requesting you to get pre-qualified with one of our designated
lenders (see below for details) before making an appointment to tour our model
homes. Once pre-qualified,
one of our Online Sales Consultants will contact you to schedule a tour, and
you will be placed on the community Priority List. As new homes are released
for sale, our community Sales Teams will contact those on the community
Priority List when it is their turn to purchase a new home.
While you eagerly wait for your turn to purchase a
DeNova home, our Online Sales Consultants are available to answer any specific
questions you have about the community, floor plan options, or homesites. Be
sure to do your homework because you will need to be ready to decide quickly
when you get the long-awaited call from our Sales Team informing you about the
new homes released for sale. That perfect dream home you tour today will likely
be gone tomorrow and the cost to rebuild it will increase as will the sales
price!
